How Do We Install Your Floors? 

As mentioned earlier, flooring installation is a very tedious process that involves many steps. Those steps will vary, depending on the type of flooring you choose, but here's a general overview: 

• Preparing Your Space: All furniture and traces of your old flooring are removed. Your subfloor will need to be clean, level, and dry, with all uneven surfaces filled in. 
• Flooring Acclimation: Certain flooring types, like hardwood or laminate planks, will need to sit and settle for a day or two to get used to your room's climate and humidity levels before installation. Be sure to read your manufacturers' recommendations. 
• Use An Underlay: Laminate and engineered hardwood flooring require an underlay, while most types of carpet use carpet padding. This step shouldn't be skipped as adds soundproofing, cushion, and moisture protection.
• Lay It Down: While this process will vary by flooring type, now is the time to install your flooring. Hardwood, for instance, starts with the first row along your longest straight wall, while tile starts from the center of your room. 
• Measure By Measure: Carefully measure and cut flooring to fit around corners, vents, and doorways. Transition strips can be added to smooth the barriers between rooms, and excess bits of flooring and underlay must be trimmed down. 
• Nail It Down: Now is the time to add nails, glue, or other locking methods if needed. 
• Finish It Up:  Spacers are removed, and debris is swept away. 
• Quality Control: Our installers will walk the floor carefully, to make sure there are no loose spots and everything feels nice and solid. 
• Let Things Settle: Some types of floors will need time to settle and cure before you can walk around on them. Plan accordingly!
